The chief enemy of creativity is good sense
-Apollo Picasso

What a paradoxical statement. I thought creativity and good sense come from the same place of the brain. How could they be enemies of one another?

This is what I thought when I first saw this Picasso quote. Then I remembered this was Picasso speaking. Artists, true artists, are volatile, passionate, lustful, and driven despite dangers in the path ahead. Breaking down Picasso's words I can now see that finding a truly new and innovative idea, also known as being creative, requires losing the ability to edit your actions so precisely. Once you let your thoughts run wild, it is easier to reach into new layers of innovation and be most creative.
