Tent camping in a dusty, warm site sans adequate face washing and dining on greasy hot dogs with a coke on the side, really takes a toll on your skin, trust me. This past week has been a constant battle with a dry chin, an oily T zone and lovely red mountains emerging across my cheeks and chin. It's been nasty. So now to fix this... Instead of slapping on extra foundation and bronzer and packing on the greasy moisturizer I am taking a makeup hiatus and focusing on revamping my sad skin because i've been bad, very very bad about properly reviving it.
In Beautify I'll share my 7 successful tips we all must follow day to day to maintain a flawless facade.
- SUNSCREEN!
Only thing worse than a body sunburn, a blotchy, red face sun burn. And the only thing worse than that... skin cancer. There are so many fantastic face creams with SPF 15 to 45 that don't clog pores or ruin your face make up so wear them everyday.
- Don't Pop it
Don't even touch that zit, don't even think about touching that zit! Your skin isn't meant to be pushed and pulled, squeezed and squished, between your greasy fingers over and over again. This is where a spot treatment creams comes in handy to stop those clogged pores from growing without molding your face into odd contortions.
- Hands off
Keep those grimy palms off of your skin as much as possible! We all know where our hands have been and even if you wash and sanitize hourly the chemicals or fragrances can dry out, oil up, or make you break out if you have sensitive skin. Not to mention if you don't wash up constantly, those hands are breeding grounds for bacteria that you want no where near your face.
- Clean your cell
Have you ever noticed you break out more often on your right than left side and vice versa? Which ear do you hold your phone to? Mmhmm all related. The sweat and again, bacteria, from a long phone call can cause pore blockage and inspire more zits on one side than the other. Even better than cleaning, hold your cell about 3 cm away from your face, this has been proven to decrease chances of brain tumors as well.
- Drink, Drink, Drink...water
Do you want a glowing, hydrated, youthful face? Duh... so drink as much water as you can. This would be anywhere near 1/2 your body weight (in ounces) to as much as your body weight in ounces. For example 120 pound person should drink 60 to 120 ounces of water daily.
- Cleanse nightly
For the sake of waking up happier, clean that gook off before you hit the hay. There is nothing worse than waking up to stiff still mascara-ed eyelashes and foundation on your pillow as well as a new red dot in the middle of your forehead. I'll post my favorite nightly cleansers in Part 2!
- Sleep soundly
Mainly because if I don't sleep well or long enough I encounter puffiness and dark circles in the morning, but sleep also provides your body time to recuperate and fend off that aged sleepy look.
Ooh! Also on sleeping, try every night to fall asleep on your back, this can decrease face wrinkles!
